Julie and I are super proud to announce the launch of our very first comprehensive online course:   THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO PLANT-BASED NUTRITION.

Over the last year, Julie and I had been contemplating a way to translate all of our plant-based knowledge and experience into the creation of a complete online educational experience for a wide audience.  A way to take the knowledge touched upon in Finding Ultra*— and now extended with the Rich Roll Podcast— to a whole new level, reaching people directly and intimately through interactive new media platforms.

But what we lacked was a partner – an organization with extensive experience in the online / new media arena that could help make this dream a reality — and leverage the content to a large audience beyond fans of this site and our content.

Enter my friend Jason Wachob, CEO and co-founder of MindBodyGreen.com.  Several months ago, Jason approached me with a novel concept:

“Rich – we absolutely love what you and Julie are doing.  Have you ever thought about sharing your knowledge and experience to a broader audience in new mediums?  What if we could help you create a robust, comprehensive and immersive online experience to optimize your outreach and further educate people about how they can get more plant-based?”

I felt like he was reading my mind.

So we put our heads together.  And set a collective goal to create the absolute best, most authentic, informative, accessible and engaging online plant-based nutrition course we could imagine.  Something ground-breaking.  Something never-before seen.

For the next 2 months we mapped it out, logging every primary category of information we felt needed to be addressed.  Identifying the information and tools we felt could most benefit people; the primary obstacles and stumbling blocks people commonly face; the major mysteries and misinformation most in need of dispelling; and the main foods we need more of, and the worst offenders — items we must get rid of.  What to buy.  Where to shop.  How to deal with travel, restaurants, family and friends.  And of course, let’s not forget, how to cook — a facile guide for preparing the most nutritious, accessible, expeditious, easy-to-prepare, delicious and family-friendly plant-based meals, blends, snacks and desserts to fit any budget, irrespective of means or access.

Post-It notes and index cards peppered the main wall in our living room, in constant flux.  I wrote up a comprehensive outline, then a script that ultimately hit almost 80 pages in length.  We categorized all the information, then recategorized.  Tossed what didn’t work and added new insights.  Wrote and rewrote until we felt we had everything nailed.  Then distilled it all down into a structure that would be easy to understand, engaging, informative, fun and most importantly – helpful – in a relatable, easy-to-understand and implement kind of way.

Over a three-day period, we filmed — twelve hours a day.  Countless hours of footage both in the kitchen and on the couch — demonstrating, cooking, debating and conversing in front of the camera — all in a concerted and conscious effort to cover and address absolutely everything you need to know to make your shift to a plant-based lifestyle not just possible, but absolutely and undeniable DOABLE.

Whether you are an ardent, long-term plant-based eater, a paleo fan, or even a devotee of the standard American “window” diet, I think we can all agree on one thing – we could all benefit from getting more plant-foods into our diet — fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, and nuts.  In this course there is no judgment, only knowledge.  We meet and embrace you wherever you are, with only one singular goal in mind: how can we be of maximum service to help you optimize and sustain your health, wellness and fitness for the long-term.  So you can live your best life.

Julie and I are so proud of this program.  Not only is it packed with information, it’s fun, engaging, and easy to follow and implement.  In short, we take all the guesswork out of getting (more) plant-based, providing you with all the tools, tips, tricks, information, community and support you need to take your health game to an all-time high.

There is simply nothing else like this on the market.  In short, I wish something like this existed when I began my journey almost seven years ago.

Now it does.

Here’s a brief rundown on what you get when you sign up:

VIDEO: A total of 3 hours and 22 minutes of online video.  The videos are broken down into bite-size chunks of 5-15 minutes, each keenly focused on a specific subject matter.  The subject heading are divided into 6 distinct “modules” under which there are several “sessions”.  Watch from beginning to end, or simply find the subject heading you are most interested in and jump in there.  Watch and learn at your leisure.  There is no right or wrong way to do it.  It’s entirely up to you.

TOOLS & RESOURCES: An array of downloadable resource materials, including a free copy of our  Jai Seed eCookbook ; several additional brand new recipes; a comprehensive multi-page ultimate grocery / shopping list of essential foods and why you need them; a list of essential budget-conscious kitchen utensils and items and where to get them; information and facts on specific foods & nutrients; an itemized list of copious additional resources, including books, documentaries, websites and plant-based information; and much more.

ONLINE COMMUNITY: Maybe my favorite feature of the course is the online membership only community forum.  People often say to me that they feel alone on this journey.  Maybe you don’t have the support of your spouse or partner.  Maybe you live someplace where you lack a supportive community, plant-friendly restaurants or markets.  Or maybe you just have pesky questions about this whole “plantpower” thing you want properly answered.  This is where the community forum comes in.  A supportive and safe environment to lodge your inquiries; celebrate your successes; learn from your missteps; solicit advice, support and recommendations; and share your journey – what’s working for you and what isn’t.  Traveling to a new city? ask the community where the best markets and restaurants are.  Trying to get your kids to ditch candy bars for green smoothies?  Here is where you can go to get that insight, feedback and support you need from people who have gone through what you are going through so you make this journey work for you.  Not only will other community members be there for you, so will Julie and I – available to you to for whatever your needs may be.  And over time, the forum will become a comprehensive bank of invaluable, searchable information – priceless.

I can’t tell you how excited we are to finally have this product available to you now!
